FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Explore In-Depth Explanations and Insights to Help You Navigate Our Offerings. Everything You Need to Know.
Does the Launch & Stow work for paddle boards?
Yes the Launch & Stow works equally as well for paddle boards as it does for kayaks.
What if my kayak has a peddle or fin drive? How do I get in the cradle?
We offer pass-through cradles if you'd prefer to leave the fin drives attached. Some customers choose to remove the fin drives before placing their craft on the cradle, but if you'd like to keep them in, the pass-through cradle is a great solution.
Is the Launch & Stow tide adjusting?
The float auto-levels the launch so it will remain at the perfect launch height no matter the tide. The float also drives the ladder, cradle, and beam to ensure that everything is at the right height while you are out on the water.
How low will the Launch & Stow go from the decking of the dock?
We have designed the launch to provide a lowering capability of 5 feet from the side of the dock. Our beam lengths range from 7 to 12 feet, ensuring that no matter the distance from the dock's decking to the water level at low tide, we have you covered.
Do the kayaks stay on the lift all season?
Your kayaks and paddle boards can remain on the lift all season, making it super accessible and ready to use. During heavy wind storms and named storms, we strongly recommend that you remove the kayaks from the Launch and Stow for safety measures.
Will this work for my jet skis?
Unfortunately the Launch and Stow will not work for jet skis but we can store certain inflatable boats up to about 600lbs.
What's the difference between V1 VS. Pro series?
With continuous improvement in mind, we have decided to introduce the Pro Series to our line of Kayak Launches. The Pro Series offers enhanced corrosion resistance and features our new roller wheel-style mounts. This series will include stainless steel winches for raising and lowering the float out of the water, as well as a winch for lifting the kayaks to a stowed position of 90 degrees (recommended for areas with rougher water).
The Launch & Stow V1 is an economical version of the Pro Series. It provides an affordable option for launching and storing your kayaks from the side of the dock. However, the Launch and Stow V1 does not have the capability to lift the float out of the water. The winches are powder-coated but are not recommended for use in saltwater environments.
How wide are the bays for the kayaks?
The standard width of each bay is 36 inches. If your kayak is wider than 36 inches, custom-sized cradles can be made to accommodate your kayak.
What's the difference between a Fixed Dock Launch & Stow and a Floating Dock Launch and Stow?
The Fixed Dock Launch & Stow can be attached to any non-floating structure (pilings, sea walls, bulkheads, piers, concrete sea walls, and aluminum docks).
The Floating Dock Launch & Stow are designed for use with floating docks, including wood, aluminum, and modular plastic docks like EZ Dock.
Can I install the Launch & Stow myself?
While we recommend that customers have them installed by licensed and insured marine contractors, we do see quite a few customers install them themselves.
What if I have the double cradle for two kayaks and only want to use one kayak?
The kayaks are strapped securely to the cradle, preventing them from floating away. This also aids in getting in and out of the kayak, making it easier to cross over to the outside bay.
down also helps getting in and out / crossing over to the outside bay.
What kind of materials are used to make a Launch and Stow?
We use the highest-quality materials for marine environments: the framework is crafted from durable 6063 aluminum, while all fasteners are made of corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel. The straps are marine-grade nylon, and UV-resistant for long-lasting performance.
How do I know what style mount to use?
If you send us a picture of where you would like to mount the launch and stow, we can recommend the best mounting bracket!
What if my dock is over 5’ from the water level at low tide?
We offer extended beam lengths and customizable ladders to accommodate varying dock heights and water levels, ensuring safe and easy access.
